Carbon Reduction Plan
Meantime AMaT Ltd is committed to fighting climate change through a business model of cloud-based systems which eliminates the need to duplicate server systems in client organisations. Cloud systems enable Meantime AMaT Ltd to choose hosting solutions through Microsoft and Amazon, who are equally committed to Net Zero and have the resources to make even greater commitments. Low energy hardware coupled with high-efficiency system design has resulted in an overall reduction in emissions despite AMaT doubling its portfolio of organisations since 2021. Microsoft has pledged to be carbon neutral by 2030 and to remove historical carbon emissions by 2050. Amazon has similar goals and has reported a decline in carbon emissions since 2023.
Meantime AMaT have pledged to use online meetings for all business needs, including client training, and to encourage staff to use public transport wherever possible. In addition, Meantime AMaT has introduced hybrid working to reduce the travel burden. The team is small – just four people – and so the carbon footprint is low.
Meantime AMaT's product – “AMaT” – provides a cloud-based system for use by the NHS. To reduce the carbon footprint of this product beyond the benefits described above through cloud-hosting, Meantime AMaT produces no printed instruction materials and no longer offers on-site training. The business is largely paperless.
This approach to benefits through cloud gives substantial returns. Independent research shows that organisations which deploy AMaT reduce their carbon footprint too. Taking just one IPC audit as an example, Oxford Health estimated that AMaT has saved them 3603 pages of paper and halved the amount of time it takes to report.
Meantime AMaT Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero within the next five years.
